In TRP, there's just one First Vienna Award event for CZE.

Well, there should be one for the beneficiary as well. As if the Munich Agreement would only fire for CZE, but not for GER.

Hi
I have another "photo" question-is the photo of the general von Wietersheim correct?
Maybe I am wrong but the one in TRP looks like Vlasov
Jupp. Was in internal error. Von Wietersheim is L352c. We will change it with the next versions. Thank you very much.

Maybe tweaking the AI files will help to a certain extent. I'll see what i can do about them. Generally speaking, keeping the bulk of essential techs up to date is rather hard for AIs since it requires a lot of planning and managing even for human players.

its all good i mean yeah its not such a big problem just a little quirk. it could be worse, say if usa/uk was building '37 carriers and japan was building '42 but it hasnt reached that point. one thing i'm surprised and happy to see is germany building nuclear reactors. this is the first time in darkest hour i've seen this however the russians are pushing them back and i dont think i'll see them use it. not that i have any great desire to see it happen anyway ;)

I told our admin about the issue. If there's anything new, i'll let you know.

Thanks! It will currently take 19 hours to download for myself and my friends who are trying in their homes. It fails every time before those 19 hours arrive, we all feel like giving up. Mega.co.nz always works amazingly and is much faster than self-hosted downloads.

Hi everybody, it's been a while since my last TRP game but I decided to try a new game with the new version, playing as Japan.
Do you have an advices for me, especially what to focus on until the Nanjing Massacre?
I decided to fill up my Dvisions and to build infantry divisions. Maybe it's more effective to build IK? What does make more sense?
I also decided to unify the Manchurian Army und Japan. Which decision is the "better" one?
In addition, Is there any possibility to build the special units?

P.S.: The unit pictures are really confusing. It's very difficult to see the differences between the different units, especially concerning the ships..

Hi.
Basing on my japan games it was pretty effective to build Infantry and mountain troops for China. They are the best ground forces for the campaign. Your bomber force can attack chinese IC to handicap the chinese army. Building IC is always a good idea because you will need a lot of modern ships for an effective pacific war. I build a combination of ground forces for china and IC for a pacific war. I stopped with IC building in 1939 to switch from IC to modern CV building program.
About the KWA: There are different opinions. KWA as a separated state saves your TC capacity and will bring you teching advantages (blueprints). But you dont have control of the building program and you cant use the officers of the KWA army for your pacific war. I prefer the annexation of the KWA because of the IC, officers and manpower. All in all you have to try to find your best way here.

About the "special units":
You are talking about the japanese type A elite infantry units? They are limited and only available by decisions.

About the pictures:
What is confusing? All icons have a clear structure: model year, model nato symbol or navy code. Elite units have an elite symbol at the right bottom corner. Background flags help to identify the nation of the unit.
Please add a screenshot or more information about your problem here. Thank you very much.

I wouldn't call it a "problem". It's more that there is not enough difference between the different unit pictures, especially concerning the different type of ships. You can't recognize the differences between, e.g. the different subs, at first sight.

Well. Like i said; thats a reason why we add a general information system for all icons with the model year and the nato symbol or navy code and/or a stylised icon.
I agree that there are a couple of icons where the unit pic is a bit small or too generalized but there was not enough graphical material for this icons. Thats the reason why we add this clear support system of the model year and unit code. You can always identity a ship by this information.

It wasn't my intention to insult someone from the TRP team, you did a great job!
I just wanted to tell you my feedback that, well, I don't like em the way they are because they are not intuitive. The graphical design is confusing compared to, for example, Kazoos Models.

I understand you but we cant improve our graphics when someone is confused but cant analyse the confusion. I would need more information, a kind of analyse why it is confusing because i cant see the problem. I made the icons and thats the reason why i'm a kind of blind for problems. To see them i need instructions. Thats the story behind my questions and explanation ;)

I'll weigh in on the other side. I think TRP's icons are the best going round by quite a margin. They were always a strong point of the game and the latest incarnation is just knock-down magnificent.

True, you have to know your NATO symbology to confirm the unit type depicted but you get a damn fine clue from the image presented. And the images themselves are so finely crafted that after years of acquaintence with the game I still find them a pleasure to behold.

a couple of odd things in my game playing as GER

1) Norway joined the AXIS in Jan or Feb 1940 - i hadn't done anything to influence them and hadn't declared war on them (i don't seem to have had "Narvik" events, not sure if i should have)

2) The "info"event about Russian factories migrating east fired just after Vichy in June 1940 - i wasn't at war with USSR [EDIT hmmm maybe it is just info as there is no immediate effect and i just assumed it had been wrongly triggered]

also - was a bit confused about "Offensive Chits" as they are referred to but you don't get an event option to purchase them

all in all am really enjoying the mod - thanks :)

@Doctoxic:

Thx for your feedback. :)

1) Most likely, it's the Altmark event that caused Norway to enter the Axis in your game: On february 16, there's a 98% chance that a norwegian AI decides for the historical outcome. However, there's also a 1% chance each for joining either Axis or Allies. If i recall correctly (You know, they implemented this event years before i joined the team. :D ), there won't be any further Weserübung events now.

2) That's WAD: GER and SOV human players will be informed about this game mechanics after the Battle of France so that they still have the time to regroup their forces.

3) We don't use the "offensive chits" like DH Full does. In TRP, you may decide to launch historical offensives like "Operation Barbarossa". These will also provide your armies with a temporary bonus in combat. There's no possibility to trigger offensive chits at will.

must admit this was and now is again my favourite mod - last played it with HoI2 and only recently noticed it was now a DH mod being actively worked on
