I hope I'm not spamming this forum. It is confusingly few that posts but perhaps this jewel of a mod is stil to be discovered by all the potential fans?
I thougt I give an update on my campaign as Japan. Mainly because I'm uncertain if it behaves as designed and that the balance is hisorically correct. I'll try to be short:
  1. Date: May 4, 1943. Resources plentiful. No need to invade Indonesia. Imports oil from Saudi Arabia. See map for detailed situation.
  2. Hong Kong and Singapore captured. Heavy fighting in Burma. Peace with Thailand
  3. US has not declared war! Option Democracies can declare war is On.
  4. The British Empire are mustering huge forces and deploys forces from Iran, Iraq etc. in the Pacific theathre. Perhaps certain countries should prohibit their forces to be transfered out of the country?
  5. Germany seams to be unable to handle a very asymetric frontline. Big captured areas cut of in the north of USSR. It seems USSR are on the offensive. USSR forces still in Siberia.
  6. Italy is kicked out of Africa and neutralized is seems.
As a conclusion, I am not quite sure that US has to be involved for USSR to beat Germany. The Briths empire has massive forces still and to isolate areas and stop supplies by sea blockade seems impossible. At least for Japan and with the air and navan doctrines I have been able to develop. A general feeling is that Japan need on ore two more tech slots to be really dangerous for UK and the US. It the US now had been involved in the war Japan would be in huge trouble. I might have done the wrong prioritiez, used to much power in China etc. But I only have 98 manpower left and hence ground forces is rather limited.

And now I'll try to take Rangoon and get that harbour and airfield:)

Dont worry. We need all the feedback we can get. Unfortunately we cant adjust all problems because a lot of parts are hardcoded or still not adjustable in details (like AI behavior and AI invasion behavior).
For your feedback:
- Resources: Hm. Supplies and oil should be a problem. Perhaps the missing pacific naval front preserve your oil stockpile.
- US hasnt declared war is a dysfunction. This should happend in a normal game. Studti already fixed this issue.
- We cant prohibit nations to access or stay out of defined areas. The UK AI will take control of this minor armies by direct command. Basing on this situation all this units will work for the british AI and will do whatever the empire will do with them.
- Germany has a chance to win this war in the east. When the soviets start their counterattack german AI collapse to fast because the AI isnt able to organise a defensive war. There is no system or code or behavior for a defensive war. That could only be done by the DH team because they could adjust the source code of HoI.
- Japan dont need more tech teams. All in all teching in TRP need a plan. You have to focus your techsystem.

I would have moved more fleets and planes if fighting the US so I comply with your theory on resources. At least oil.
I was unaware of the AI defensive problem. Not a showstopper since my feeling is that the AI defend itself fairly good.
About the US not declaring war. I might have skipped the democracy declaring war option the very first time I started the game, adjusting it right afterwards. It just crossed my mind. Might that be the reason?
I understand that a tech plan is neccessary but since one never get a hint on how long time it takes to develop a tech and I have never played this mod version before, it should perhaps have been more space for trial and failure without falling to much behind. All the same, it might be right as it is
Finally I choosed to upgrade my BB's and BC's. Again it was unknown as to how much time and IC it would consume. It takes awfully long time and I am now sure I shouldn't have done it. Hard to know from the start.

Hey guys.
Time for a small update.
We are trying to bring a new trp version around Christmas (as a small present for you ;)). So we are very busy at the moment. To show you our preparations for the upcoming version i have analysed our last week on our internal trp game version. Here are some numbers for you.
We have edited around 18 files, added more than 35 pictures for events, units and other stuff. A file was totally reworked (more than 3800 lines). More than 12 new events and decisions are available. More than 20 events have been reworked, adjusted or changed (beside the total new Now file). 2 new tech teams were added and 2 new elite units were added.
And this is just a single week during the TRP development. All in all we try to improve the mod. We analysed feedback form the community, we found problems and errors by testgames, we discussed new stuff and we added a bunch of flavour content to play with.

So stay tuned for our new version and support us with feedback, AARs, screenshots or comments!

To upgrade BBs and BCs faster you need to research BBs and BCs techs. For example, once you research the 1940 battlecruiser tech the upgrade time should be reasonable (less than one year in my japanese campaign IIRC). I suggest you start upgrading them only after having acquired the techs.

I thought those upgrades were outside the usual path, so it wouldn´t matter which tech I researched (once a minimum tech level has been achieved).

E.g. with the super heavy battleship tech you can achieve the max upgrade advantage for the BBs.
So with teching progress you can save time and IC. That is e.g. a good way for Japan. With ENG you have to decided; do you need an upgraded navy? When do you need it? So the situation for UK is different.

When I click on the link, I get only a blank, white page in a new tab. Any thoughts on why that would happen? I only went ahead and upgraded DH to 1.04 because I saw that there was a TRP update that would be compatible with it, so this difficulty in downloading the new TRP is really frustrating....

Thanks for the new link. I got the page this time and downloaded the TRP + Hotfix, but when the download was complete, I got an error message that the download wasn't found in C:\User... which I hadn't chosen as a download-destination. I have had problems with .rar files before. Just before the download started, I was asked whether to open or save it. I chose to open it by default with 7-zip. After the download finished, though, I couldn't find it anywhere (except, of course, in the Firefox download library). Do you have any advice? I'm not exactly computer-savvy, but I haven't had any problems with DH (with TRP) or other Paradox games before now. Thanks again.....

Thanks, you guys, for your help. I didn't find the file after a quick search of C:, so I downloaded TRP 1.02 RC1 + Hotfix.rar again, this time saving it directly into the DH Mods folder. I then used 7-Zip to open it and launched DH TRP 2. It definitely looks like TRP 2--it has the changes mentioned in your description--but the checksum is IHGQ. The checksum for DH Full is correct, though. TRP 1 is still showing in the DH-Mod drop-down menu. Is that the problem? Should I delete the TRP 1.01 file?

I've been using the DH Event Cheats mod for TRC (yes, I'm a dirty cheater :p), and each time I select the decision which speeds up production of land units, the game crashes. Has something similar happened to any of you?

Sorry. I think that both mods arent compatible. We wont support the Cheat Mod for our TRP because we worked to hard to balance the game and add challenges for the players. Cheats will destroy the TRP feeling.
