Basically what the title says. Almost my entire offensive army is stuck on a single tile in a friendly, allied, same ideology, same alliance, same side in war, also active, etc. single tile. it's not just my own troops- AI troops from multiple nations are stuck on that tile as well. no matter what I do to try and get them off, theyll start leaving, the arrow will show up, and then the progress will reset and theyll snap back, and itll happen like 3-4 times in a second.

Full vanilla, ironman, no other issues so far. I couldn't find anything online except for one reddit post like a month ago where their troops were ALSO stuck in the balkans with the same bug, but it was never solved and beyond that nothing. Help would be really appreciated because I've put ten hours into this campaign over a few days and losing because of a dumb bug is.. painful. Thanks

Did you get them to the tile using a "fallback line" to a single tile? That's a easy way to collect an army and move it somewhere, but if you don't delete the fallback line order after they get there, they will do pretty much what you described. Take the order to move somewhere else, then at some point (an "end of day" loop/check maybe), they will realize that they have a fallback line order active and simply abort the move order as they are already in their fallback line position.

My first thought, assuming it isn't a bug is I have noticed when a lot of units are on a tile with very low supply they seem to get stuck, I assume as they are so disorganized they can't move and lack of supply means they don't regain organisation.

Can you up the supply to the tile?

What is their organization at and is it increasing?

no fallback lines, i actually tried using one- and basically every other way to order troops somewhere- to get them out, but they stay stuck.

its not just my own orders, allied troops from the AI are stuck there too, doing the same "trying to move out and snapping back" thing

yep, i thought it might have been that too, but no. i told them to sit still (they can manage that) and got the tile's supply up to above zero (hard to get it higher considering theres like 40 units, mine and allied AIs, on the tile,) then took a single unit with full supply and organization and tried to order it to leave, but no luck.

Can you strat-move them one at a time?
nope. upon further inspection, when the arrow finally fills for a troop to be moving somewhere (if that makes sense) the message switches from "x time left" to "there is no avilable land route to this province."

its a tile in the middle of bulgaria. no mountains to block, not asking them to cross the ocean, etc. also, every time they rubberband and snap back to the tile, for a split second a defensive battle icon pops up, but again, they're in friendly territory fighting no one. no mysterious stuck enemy troops in the area either. baffling. im just giving up on the game file

Did you update a patch during that game? Sometimes they change map provinces and it's possible that your map has got borked during the process. If so I'm afraid you're never getting them back. Normally they only do map changes in big patch numbers, not sure

I had a similar issue in my Crusader Kings IV run last month. This happened on Jan 14th- not sure which BBA patch was the live one then.

I had three divisions used to mop up in Aden. Once that was done, I created a new fallback line for them near Sinai, so they would move near the front while I microed elsewhere. Ethiopia controlled the states of Yemen, Aden, Tabuk, Jordan, and Palestine, and Saudi Arabia was my puppet, so the troops could walk from Aden to Sinai.

I checked back later, and noticed that the troops had barely moved. The tooltip implied they would be in Jordan in a few weeks, but no progress was made. The troop sprites would walk forward, then stutter backward again, over and over. They are in good supply, and the infrastructure in the area appears intact. You can see that more than a week has passed, but the troops haven't moved even a single tile.

These screenshots are from an intermediate save, so I can confirm that the troops did eventually move, but it took 4-5 months in game (plus fiddling with deleting/re-creating orders, manual movement orders, etc.). This may be the same issue that the OP observed. Is there a bug report where I can upload my old save?

no clue if I updated, im not even sure if the issue popped up between saves. That might be the case though- someone else here just described an issue exactly like mine that they said happened to them between patches.
