Hello everyone, I have a thing to suggest. I hope like it
Since we are having longer battles with the lastest updates, I thought there should be something that can reduce this duration (and get some realism, to an extend): exhaustion of the troops in the armies. Since the initial release of this game, troops weren't meant to be tired during wars. You know that in real history, troops got tired/exhausted for a number of reasons and I belive that this situation can be integrated to EU4 with a simple mechanic, like drilling and professionalism.
I imagined exhaustion level works like a counter-balance to drilling level and it can have its own bar (like drilling). 0% means troops are fresh and 100% means troops are completely exhausted. With varying degree, armies are going to have "bonuses" on these areas: damage received, damage inflicted on enemy, movement speed, siege ability reduction, morale and discipline. At 100% exhaustion, troops will receive these levels: +25% for damage received (both fire and shock), -25% for damage inflict, movement speed, morale and discipline, -10% for siege ability.
Different actions will affect increase the amy exhaustion (from 0% to 100%) differently. Battles +5% per day, sieges +3% per day, movement is dependant on the terrain: +1% per day on farmlands/grass/dylands, 1.5% per day on woodlands/forests/hills/highlands and 2% per day on mountains/coastal desers/deserts/glacials. If the army is neither moving, fighting nor siegeing, then it will lose its exhaustion gradually.
Navies will have same exhaustion levels too, only difference is that their exhaustion gain method: being in a port or not. If they are fighting, then they will gain 5% exhaustion per day. If they are out in the sea (either moving of standing still), then they will gain 3% exhaustion per day.
