Hello,

i'm playing as the duke of Tuscany (italy). I was upgrading my castle in my main county very well and i had around 1200 army to raise from my homecounty alone. Now my duke dies and his imbicile son gets the throne. His stats are very poor and suddenly i can only raise like 80 army in my county of tuscany while there are still like 1100 waiting in the castle. So my question has this something to do with stats?

i am only talking about my troops, not of any vassals

The problem is that when i click on any of my own provinces i see my castle icon. When i hover my mouse over my levy the bar shows only 10% green and the rest is coloured red. I have a levy size of 1400 but i can only raise like 200 man from that although i'm the liege of that castle. is this a bug or ...

stats and vassal opinon comes into play, likely u lost the long rule modifyer and being a imbecile doesnt help.

So your rulers stats can cause you can't recruit your own troops? i do want to say that no vassels are included in this 'problem'.

I am insanely confused by this thread.

Are you saying that your OWN CASTLE, as in YOUR OWN HOLDING, as in YOUR OWN PERSONAL DEMENSE, is only able to offer you say, 5% of the total troops in the castle?

If so, this is a bug. You are entitled to 100% of the levy in your own, personal castles, minus the minimum your liege demands from you. If you are independent, you are entitled to 100%.

If, however, this is a castle belonging to one of your vassals, then yes - it will be vastly reduced because they hate you.

Unless something has (very suddenly) changed, then you should be able to take 100% of the levy from a holding that you personally own, minus any crown laws and feudal levy laws (if you have a liege)

If this is the situaton then yes, it is a bug. Go to castle wiew and hover over the troop icon(mid-top) to see the modifiers. If it says anything unusual, write it here so we can help.

Are you yourself a vassal? If so, then the red part are the troops reserved for your liege. Did your liege change his/hers Crown Laws recently? It seems that you may be dealing with an absolute crown authority and/or a character that really likes his/hers liege (vassals who like their liege supply him/her with more troops).

So my situation:

Im the duke of Tuscany, my liege is the emperor of the HRE. Firenze is my capital province.
In foto 1 i clicked on my province and i'm showing my troopnumbers in MY castle (not the castle of a baron or a mayor or ...) Here you can see that i own 1382 troops. The strange thing here is that my bar turns partially red? (the bar i'm pointing at with my mouse next to my garrison number)

ck2_1.jpg

in foto 2 i hover my mouse over the raise local levy button and you can see i can only raise 276 troops of my own levy although i have 1382 at my disposal.

ck2_2.jpg

Is this a bug or am i missing something here?
ps i hope u can see the pictures cuss i'm a noob is this :)

he has absolute crown authority but my current rulers father also was in the HRE under absolute ca and he could raise all his troops and as you can see all my troops are present in my castle so they arent raised by my liege.

i also found out i have an opinion of 100 towards my liege. I cant seem to find anything about levy laws in the hre i can only see the crown autority in the laws tab

Ok, maybe as someone pointed out earlier you like your liege too much? Try saving and starting and independence war. Maybe you can if it has something to do with your liege or is a bug.

Yes you were right, after i declared my war of independence i imediately got 100% of my troops. Can someone explain me the mechanics that were in play here becouse this is the first time i encounter these. and how how i can counter this

1382 x .2 = 276 so with ACA the leige has access to 80% of your troops, you have access to 20%. So the math adds up. The only counter that I know of is to be independant where you have no liege.
