Troop counts

Not sure if this is "fog of war" and WAD or not...

In playing Germany and at war against the Soviets, I would check periodically to see their troop strength. If I go into the list and check infantry divisions, the Soviets have one amount (say 50), but if I look at all the icons on their provinces, and add them up, they have maybe 75. Is that "faulty intelligence" or is something not adding up?

Could be wrong, but sounds like FOW! Tech tree allows for Intell to be better, or if you are adjcent could always do a feint!

Anyone, know just how affective the research for Intell upgrades is?

I don't have any numbers BUT

I've found that the more advanced intell. tech. you know, the better intell. you get (DUH!)

If your intell is good enough you start getten info on the unit types like : 5 infantry, 3 armor, etc.


So I'd say that intell is quite effective!

Which unit types are reported as infantry by intel?

From what i can see, intel describes all units as infantry that aren't armour or cavalry.

I suspect they are mostly militia.

Maybe the bug is that even effective intel doesn't see a difference between militia and mechanized infantry.
