So I've read through different solutions to why CKII wont lanch for me, and I've tried most of them. I've reinstalled the game and I've downloaded several Windows updates but nothing has worked. When I run CKII I get to the first screen with all the dlcs etc, but then when I hit 'Play Game' my screen blinks black for a second (as if it was going to launch) and then nothing happends.

What should I do? Uninstalling and installing/and or updating my software has worked before but not now.

So the game used to work on this same machine? What changes or updates occurred between when the game last worked, and first failed? Was there a Windows re-install or anything like that?

Please post a dxdiag.txt (you can delete everything after the end of the "Sound devices" section for brevity) and your Documents/CK2/settings.txt. From your Documents/Paradox/CK2/logs/ directory, post system.log . What version # and checksum do you see in the launcher?

I don't know why, but suddenly it launched and appears to be working ok. I did nothing else since posting this, and on that day it did not work. Maybe it just needed some time to settle in :) And to answer your question, nothing major was done to the computer, and it had worked properly prior to this.
