Currently taking down Ming is pretty simple since you can trash them, then attack a tributary and trash them all over again. Then do it again. And again. And again. And Ming keeps accepting the call to arms. Who cares if province warscore is doubled after the first war? I can just sit on them and keep taking land.
No sane player would do this. Most players wouldn't even bother protecting any tributaries. The system also creates the strange occurences where non-tributary Chagatai will attack Sarig Yogir and get itself into a war with Ming (though this is also caused by the AI not factoring in suzerain strength). Finally, the player is often shoehorned into becoming a tributary just to eat up all other tributaries.
This is all caused by suzerains accepting a call to arms without fail just to protect some tributary halfway across the world. It breaks the AI, leads to extreme gameyness, and makes playing in East Asia pretty stale overall.
There are two ways to fix this:
1. Create a scaling malus based on distance for protecting tributaries
2. Removing the automatic call to arms and instead force the suzerain to use Enforce Peace
Option (1) is probably the best. But please fix this aspect of the tributary system.
