Hello everyone,

Following what I have read, it would appear that when we go Merchant Republic from Tribal, our vassals will go Feudal.

(latest thread on this subject dated February : https://forum.paradoxplaza.com/foru...-enable-tribal-vassals-to-go-republic.910702/)

Is it still the case ?

Also, I was wondering, if I Revoke a county from a Feudal Vassal, would I be able to get a Mayor instead in that county ?

I am currently at 12 Desmenes as Tribal : trying to upgrade most of them to turn them into city and hand the surplus to Mayors once I will have made the switch.

I could try to get more desmenes before doing the switch but wondering if it would not be better to simply try and revoke the feudal vassal after the switch (and taking into account i will have the gold to get Mercenary to backup such plan).

Thank you in advance if you have other good post on how to handle this well.

Last : i am playing as Norse of course :) Already reformed the religion and my capital is already with a Market City at 4. I just need to get to Absolute Tribal Organization.

Republics require a reason to revoke so it's really easier to just hand out to the titles after converting to a Merchant Republic. I'd spread the extra titles around to the various Patrician families with the lion's share remaining with your character's family.

I converted to a MR from Tribal about 2 weeks ago.

All my vassals went to MR.

Of course, I only had 1 or 2. Maybe you should just revoke all your vassal's titles before converting?

Unless you are RPing there is no reason to give patricians any land at all. Unless you wish to be at the mercy of a powerful liege if you lose an election. Better to leave the inheritable capital city trash and improving a second better city in the capital for your own dynasty's use

Thank you everyone.

@josefrees : the idea of getting more patricians was to make sure I would have "allies" in front the possible rebellion from other vassals (tribal/feudal) who would try and seize power after the conversion. Maybe I am overthinking it but I currently have the Kingdom of Sweden who encompass Danemark and Norway and with 17 vassals or so, I am trying to be safe on that side.
