Since loading a game started in a previous game, and starting 1.33, I've had 2 of my colonial nations attacked by small tribal nations. Is there a way that the parent nation can join the war?

I thought I'd be able to work around this by loading the colonial nation and then call to arms to the parent nation (Spain), but turns out you can't call your parent nation to war. I've run on fast forward for a couple of years, and never got brought into the war.

Is this a general bug, or is it possibly a result of changing versions mid-game?

I'm happy to hack this to get around the issue, if anyone has any suggestions.

Yeah... the New World is VERY hostile right now. So far in my Portugal run, natives have tried to attack every single one of my CNs shortly after formation.

Like, I understand historically colonization was by and large not peaceful (settlers take land, natives take back, settlers come back with a bigger army, repeat until diseases etc. ruin the natives), but this is kind of ruining most of the "colonizing" bonuses. Not to mention the whole tribal nation settles/resettles bug where it will take already colonized land.

Colonization is almost impossible on very hard now. When you establish a colonial nation it is instantly getting attacked by 40K natives who conquer it. They never get to the point where they can actually defend themselves. Yes you can enforce peace and interfere but with 10+ tribes as neighbors there is always at least 2 wars going at all times. If you have 3-4 colonies it is a lot of wars you have to keep track of. Its eating up your manpower and money and making colonies not being worth the trouble.
