Hello, thanks for your time, everyone. I'm having trouble in my ck2 game. I've called by tribal allies in Iceland to war, but they won't use their boats to participate nor will their attached armies board my transports. They are stuck uselessly in Iceland. I find this confusing because I've seen another tribal ally on the actual continent raise galleys to transport their troops. It looks to me like the iceland tribals have boats, I don't understand why they either won't use them or board mine. Is there any solution to this?

just wanted to add that the depicted army is actually 3 different vassals, so the 7 galleys should cover the single vassal's share. And while the warscore is now 100%, they were still stuck there from the beginning. I also tried getting monks and mystics, but none of those features helped

The numbers in the holding window represent the maximum number of troops/ships available (after reinforcement is complete), not the number that are available at the moment (*). For example, they might have only just built the "shipbuilder", or they might have taken their ships elsewhere for raiding etc.

If you're not in ironman, you could switch over to one of these characters to see what's happening.

---

(*) You can demonstrate this as follows:
  • start a new game
  • check the theoretical number of ships in the holding window
  • raise the ships
  • take the ships out to sea and disband them (losing half)
  • check the theoretical number of ships in the holding window - note that it hasn't changed.

Thanks for your response. Unfortunately I am playing Iron Man, so I don't think I'll be able to try what you suggested. Here's a mouse over of their levy, it seems that they just won't raise those galleys
