It seems to me that no matter how many trees I plant, it has ZERO effect on noise pollution as far as I can tell. Can we get confirmation that trees planted from the decorative menu do not lower noise pollution please? @TotalyMoo ?

There have been numerous threads and hints by CO that trees may affect noise pollution, but Im convinced this is not so, at least not for decoration menu trees.

The only trees that seem to have any effect are the ones that are built into road segments, (these road segments explicity state they reduce noise pollution), not the ones you plant from the decorations menu.

Looking for confirmation please and thanks.

Trees lining roads (the built in ones) do but not ploppable ones. Not sure if we removed that or it was never properly implemented/balanced. Sorry for any confusions in communication here.

Thanks @TotalyMoo. That confirms my suspicions and tests.

Would you be able to put in a feature request to the devs to add that functionality to decorative trees in a future update/patch? This would be an awesome addition to the game and provide more functionality for these decorations, other than the beauty factor.

It would also provide an incentive to people to leave room in their cities to place trees, in order to strategically block noise pollution.

Since decorative trees are already in game, adding the property of reduing noise pollution to them could be a great addtion, and hopefully not too much extra work for the devs.

If ever air pollution was implemented into the game, trees could also take on the property of reducing that as well in a future update, making them even more super cool fantabulous.

PS - could you confirm also whether placing parks actually reduces noise pollution or not?

Wow that is surprising. Even the in game tips say that trees do that. Well also it says High tech (max level) industry creates less pollution but that is untrue as well. Oh well :/

Yes I read that as well in multiple threads, but based on my own tests and @TotalyMoo 's reply, it is not the case.

Only the segments of roads lined with trees provide a barrier to noise pollution, not decorative trees themselves.

I have literally built forests of ploppable trees around structures, and noticed it doesnt do anything to reduce my noise pollution. It was pretty obvious it wasnt working, hence this thread to get confirmation.

I have requested it as a possible future add-on/fix, so hopefully this will come in the future.
