Trebizond last names.

Odd question but what is the basis for the trebizondian last names? Are they lazic last names or something else. It was definitely a greek state so their leaders should have some greek names mixed in ontop of well....whats there.

I'm tryin for an ironman Trebizond and I recall the last names being weird.

I belive i read somewhere that they are turkish. But that make no sense, atleast some of them should be greek.

They are indeed Turkish, which is somewhat bizarre if all of them are like this. Turks in Greek service were hardly unprecedented, but Trebizond was very much a Greek state.

All of Trebizond's last names are Greek. Check the files; all the Pontic dynasty names are (properly) Greek. To quote the files, they are:

If you get an accepted culture, don't you get generals from it too? At least it works for advisors. It would explain OP getting turks in service if he conquered a bit from Ottomans and got Turkish accepted.

I got those names straight from the Trebizond country file. They are all Turkish.

I will load up a Trebizond game in a moment and check the merchant/diplomat names.
