The title about says it. The transition to a monarchy from a theocracy should remove the heir from your theocracy as a model of the institution of dynastic succession. Right now it does not do so.
Historically speaking, if you look at the most prominent examples, Prussia and Courland, the rulers that instituted a monarchy put their children on the throne following their deaths. All said, it's rather odd to have another grown man from a different dynasty as your heir following the transition, especially if your ruler is from a prominent dynasty and the heir is not (eg Hohenzollern vs some randomly generated dynasty).
