Testing out the new subsidiary mechanics, and coming to the horrible realization I can't transfer trade through their territory! Did anyone test with other subjects or allies?

Could we have pass-through of trade for subjects, allies and commercial partners? For the sake of tall runs and playstyles. And my feelings.

Edit: It didn't work for several months, but after the reply here I looked again, and it is now tracing back from at least one base. Will look into pirates to see if I can fix the rest.

In my first game I had a trade route through the territory of another empire I had a trade agreement with. But don't know how it works with vasals. I assume it should work as well.

Apparently you can transfer trade through ANYONE you have open borders with. I was just playing a machine empire when I noticed piracy risk warning on my systems. Turns out my ally has colonized some faraway world not connected to his core sectors and his trade is flowing through my territory, spawning pirates all over my space.
