Hi,

I'm trying to make a fairly compact city, so mainly highrises and little in the way of open spaces, however I am having serious traffic issues and I was wondering if anyone could have a quick look and make some suggestions.

You will be able to see that the main issues are the roundabouts in the residential area, as soon as they get full everything goes to pot! Currently you can see I am recovering from a 'wave-o-death', which was caused by the excessive traffic so the hearses couldn't get there. I tried adding a separate route into each of the roundabouts, hence the overpasses into the centre, this was to relieve the traffic directly from the highway as that was the biggest issue, but it only delayed the build up of traffic again.

So if anyone can make some suggestions or some tips on how to avoid this issue in the future that would be very helpful.

I've looked and looked but I just don't see much in the way of traffic. Then again my puter/monitor are not close to being considered good, so I'm sorry I can't be of much help. I'll try again if you can provide a larger pic.

The file is a saved game that you could load up. I believed that would be easier to look at and see the issues first hand rather than several screen shots.

Some of my interchanges are quite complex so a picture wouldn't show the issue that well.

(They say a picture is worth a thousand words, I was hoping a save game was worth a million! )
