This is something that bothered me in the CiM games - the draw distance for traffic on the streets. I only really noticed it on a playthrough on CiM2 a few months back and from that point on, it really broke immersion for me, as it would show empty streets from a reasonable height (not fully zoomed out) until I got really close to the ground, then display the traffic. It was even worse on busy roads/motorways as I'd have traffic backing up in the near view, but as you looked further away, the traffic just vanished into thin air until you moved closer.

Now, my question is this - how far out is traffic (and other animations) represented on Cities Skylines? Bear in mind my PC is more than capable of handling this game and while I won't get me e-wang out to parade in front of everybody, it's the kind of machine that can play FarCry4 on Ultra with no slow down, so this isn't really a PC problem I am having, but one with the game itself, unless I am missing an obvious option in the game (although I have set it all to max)

Well, it's running the same engine so it has me concerned as I have CiM set to Max and while it runs nice and smooth, the traffic vanishing into nothing when I scroll out a bit really bugs me. So much so, I quit my last playthrough as it just broke immersion. I would like the traffic to be viewable no matter how much I zoom out :(

You have me confused over the Minecraft comment though! :p

Haha, just that the drawing distance in MC works exactly the same - if you bump it up really high, the game actually feels much better and more lively, at the cost of brutal hardware requirements. Vanishing traffic/pedestrians is really one of the most annoying factors and deserves to have its own option. Feel ya bro! :D

Ah, got ya!

But yeah, I can understand them not drawing on lower-spec rigs, but I am a father of three with no social life, so I've pumped money into a pretty decent rig, so I want to see my traffic, goddamit!
