Hi,

I recently asked about neighborhood, but I have another question on the subject that hasn't been answered : will there be trade between cities, as in if I have too much power I can sell it, or if I lack garbage facilities I can export my garbages? If not, is there any project to add this?

I am assuming that there is no need for this, as there is no region, or multiplayer in Cities: Skylines. The whole map can be a single city, and not tiny cities in a large region aka SimCity 2013. I am sure; however, that you can build separate cities in different parts of the 9x9 unlockable grid, and have them specialize in certain industries, and share power, water, sewage, transportation, and city services.

There is nothing like that for now in Skyline. Maybe in the future they can add something where you can sell/buy things between your cities but for now you build individual cities that dont "speak" to other cities.

While there is no actual trade that you control, if your city needs certain resources, it will automatically be imported from the "world" on the other end of the highways. The same is true if you produce more resources than you need; they will be exported to the outside "world".

right now it's not possible because on the region we have, it's meant to be a 1 city region, but you can create more smaller spread towns if you want (confirmed by Mariina Hakkinnen CEO)

would be nice though to have some simulated trade of utilities, maybe services between cities, like in Simcity 4 and simcity 2013.

No.

The outside world is there to help find a balance for your city. The most optimal situation would be to produce only enough for your city, but when you are trying to find this balance between different zones, instead of the city filling up with goods they just are sold outside for smaller profits to help keep the game going. There is only one city in the game world an that is yours (you can have different saves but the cities are not connected) so the outside world is just the big unknown that will send tourists to your city, sell you what you need and accept goods endlessly. The focus of Cities: Skylines is your very own city so you don't have to worry about any other ones!

Excess goods are automatically sold to the outside world and required resources (and tourists) are imported and that's pretty much it.
