Ai am not familiar with this's period in history, but I was wondering was there little trade in Europe or did P-dox choose to leave it out.

There was trade. It just hasnt been modeled in the game. A few mods take a stab at it though.
there's Magnate Lords for one.
it's also (or used to be) compatible with CK2+ as well.
For the Republics DLC I hope they will add trade, since I hope the Republic DLC means you get to play a non-landed noble dynasty within a republic. And even if you play the actual republic (which imho would not be CK) you still want trade to properly model the powers of the Italian republics.
To compensate the game fun and fantasy style of the Aztec, trading could be historically correct. You'll have to manage up to 503 silver coin types, and after 1252 there's gold as well.
