Okay, I mistakenly posted this thread in the user mod forum, so I thought I would repost it here and see what responses I got.
"Okay, I have been playing for a little while now and I think I have a grasp on a lot of the major concepts, but I has a few questions concerning trade. I have always started as a country without a COT but in my latest game I took over Genoa and gained the COT in Liguria. I am currently a member of The Hansa's trade league. However, I would like to break away and start a trade league of my own. My questions have to do a lot with this. First, if I break away, can I try and bring other countries into my trade league. Second, if I am able to form a trade league then will I have the options such as founding trade stations or asking for rights to exclusive trade. I only ask these because Hansa has done both of these in my territory since I have been associated with their league. If I can do these, then how, is it just another option in the diplomatic screen. Do I have to be a certain government type before I am allowed. If I am not able to do these, then I have to say I am really disappointed because that would be really really cool. Finally, the COT in Liguria has changed hands many times over the last few years and has a high stagnation and low income. What can I do, if anything, to reverse these trends. Thanks to all in advance."
I had the question about forming trade leagues answered in that I have to become a merchant republic. Which brings up another slew of questions.
1. If I have a personnel union and become a republic (noble, merchant, or otherwise) does the PU go away or continue.
2. Speaking of PU. I know that on the death of a monarch there is a chance of the territory either be inherited or the PU continuing. I have checked before and it says upon death territory with bee inherited but then a few years later, with nothing changing in the relationship it says PU will continue. Question I have is there anyone to ensure the territory will be inherited or is it just random.
3. Finally if anyone had ideas on the high stagnation/low income in a COT and ways to fix it I would love to hear them.
