Now when there is a DLC which gives immersion (...) to a major naval and trade power, wouldn't it be appropriate to do something with the trade? Trade routes and nodes are completely wooden and it is pretty meh.

It was silly in EU3, but actually felt more lively when trade centres could go down and new ones could be created.

From what has been discussed on the forums the past four years.. it's unlikely. Maybe in the next iteration of the game.

I doubt PDX is wanting to do such a huge overhaul of something that important in the game, so late in the games support.

At least an ability to create/close routes would be nice.

For example, by default there are many possible "hidden" routes which could be closed/opened. Pre-determining them to avoid loop.

Maybe make trade bi-directional somehow.
