The situation:
* I am Great Britain.
* I hold Bermuda, cored and whatnot.
* I have provinces around Chesapeake Bay and have assigned a fleet to protect trade at that node.
* My aforementioned trade fleet makes its way to West Bermuda Sea by way of Turks & Caicos Sea -> Antilles Current -> West Bermuda Sea.
* The fleet incurs attrition and goes in for repairs at Bermuda.
* The fleet proceeds to spasm-move between Bermuda and West Bermuda, "stuck" because all the tiles around it are open sea.

So my question is simple: What can I do to prevent my fleet from getting stuck? It's becoming problematic as the lack of proper patrolling gives rise to pirates.

If your fleet is only there to add trade power to the Chesapeake node then don't worry about it - it still does that whilst in Bermuda. If you also want it to deter pirates more widely then you will have a problem and will have to check on it from time to time to move it back to the east coast of North America.

Its a problem with Bermuda. Guess its EUIV's version of the bermuda triangle.

The fleet will add trade power just fine. Regrettably, you will need to send another fleet for pirate patrols. Alternately, avoid colonizing bermuda in future :(

I have the same problem with Bermuda... but you guys realize that a single ship parked in a harbor in Chesapeake Bay will keep almost the entire coastline free of pirates forever? Add another one every 3 sea zones. Pirates are a non-issue.
