Did PDX ever clarify how Merchant Republics are going to handle the new change to Trade Company regions and Govt. forms? Will there be a reason to play as a Merchant Republic in 1.30? The Goods Produced bonus seems like it's going to be seen everywhere now.

Did PDX ever clarify how Merchant Republics are going to handle the new change to Trade Company regions and Govt. forms? Will there be a reason to play as a Merchant Republic in 1.30? The Goods Produced bonus seems like it's going to be seen everywhere now.

I believe it was stated that they'd lose the cap of 20 stated provinces, and would instead have reduced governing capacity.
