So I'm playing as Portugal and I've captured Tangiers, hoping to get the upper hand in the sevilla trade node, but the trade power of castile seems to be calculated wrong.

(67.1+36+5+2)*.95= 104.595 not 139.8. Is there some AI bonus I'm missing (playing normal difficulty no bonuses) or is this a bug. My trade power is only slightly higher than theirs when I control the majority of the (high-value) provinces.

Fuzzy math is not my forte, however being better at the game is.

Pull your merchant out, and steer with it, from Tunis or Genoa. That will add additional bonuses (as long as no merchants collect anywhere). Then build more ships, or sink theirs.

I was happily playing a hansa game thought I was doing well, but Someone told me about a new mechanic, I tried it and went from 350 trade income to 511, just from not using a merchant to collect.

As far as the math.... expect paradox math to be wrong, and you'll never be supprised. The dumbest bugs make it into this game constantly... often the same bug more than once. Like how bonuses to vassal income are only effective if it's the vassal that has the bonuses... etc.

I'll try that, it's just irritating that Castile always has the edge.

Probably the embargoes not working bug. Would the math be correct if you removed the embargo modifiers, which I'm assuming drag the efficiency negative?

If that's all it is, I think they said it's already fixed for 1.9.
