Does anyone know how good Toys R Us is about getting Paradox games in?

I don't normally buy computer games from them, but I have a Toys R' Us Gift Card burning a hole in my pocket, and I'd like to use it to buy Hearts of Iron.

They get PC games, they just usually just get them quite late and focus more on the best-sellers and bargain games than niche market "adult" games.

I'd doubt pretty highly that they'd carry HoI, but you never know.

Toys R. US is a toy store.

I don't think they'd carry something like HoI because they focus on games for little kids. Even if they did have it, it would probably show up a year after release date.

Edit: According to their website, they do have it..just through amazon.com.

I agree. If HoI sells very well then Toys R Us might carry it - six months from now.

Toys R US memory

I remember as a teenager before Toys R US went really national that they used to carry a good selection of AH games; and they were discounted from the prices at the Hobby Shop stores.

I was in a Toys R Us (sorry non-U.S. of A.-types, I should have defined the term) store this past weekend, and they had a lot of computer games, I just didn't know which ones were recent and didn't know whether they get in Paradox games.

They had neverwinter Nights and they had a lot of military games (Command & Conquer? I don't remember), so they might get in HoI, I just thought maybe someone else would have a better idea of how quickly they get stuff.

Would this be an accurate accessment of the situation:

If the store you plan on buying HoI at sold you your copy of EU2, it seems likely they will stock Hearts of Iron?

Yes.

Call or visit the store manager.
He can give you a good idea based upon their upcoming inventory if/when they will get it.
Things go well and they do have, the manager may put a copy aside for you.

Yep, that is where I used to get all of my AH games. People thought I was crazy spending so much time in a toy store (I was not a little kid anymore).

If HoI makes it into the top ten sales positions for a week or two it'll magically start appearing everywhere

We have a few Toys'R'Us in the UK now but the one I visited recently only had a very limited selecion of computer games.
