Mr Schwarzerd, everyone makes mistakes. Let's take Vilms as example, that mayor thingy. Or how Lundgren(or Vilms) ordered SWAT to farpoint altough we don't have SWAT unit.

Not everybody is violating the Constitution in the process, and in ways that were exceptionally easy to avoid to boot. And not everybody is charged with directing our nation's supreme legislative body while they are violating our nation's supreme law.

It's in any case mildly amusing to note that the Right, with its deeply ingrained habit of yelling "foul" everytime it even *looked* as if de facto eternal Speaker Borgman might at some point violate the Constitution, has so far remained remarkably silent on the issue. Not that I'd want to impute purely partisan motives to the Right's rather capricious concern for our Constitution, of course...

Why wasn't i invited to witness in Tulp and Haynes tribunal?I know the truth? The truth is:Tulp never held IKK hostage, he said IKK could leave as long as he didn't tell location of war room, which(telling location of war room) is an act of treason. Do they want the truth?Tulp only tried to stop IKK from doing what he(Tulp) thought was a crime!I know, i was THERE!

"REALLY?" says a police officer in mock surprise. "So tell us, then, since you couldn't be in two places at once, who was that leading the paratroopers as they took up positions around the ministry officers? Was that your twin brother? What's his name? How does he like Eutopia?"

Announcement

Attention:

We are looking for civic minded Eutopians and afficianados of fine art to serve as benefactors for the special "Stones of South Africa" traveling exhibit which will be traveling across the nation.

We are pleased to host South African heiress Witney VonVaam as she travels to Eutopia with her family's rare jewels.

We hope that a special benefit dinner with Ms. VonVaam will help raise funds to promote our museums, and our cultural arts in general.

However we need volunteers and organizers. Will someone please volunteer to chair this effort and to help organize the dinner? Inviting MVP guests and finding corporate and private sponsors?

Your help is appreciated.

Thank you.

I would be happy to contribute to this effort for fund raising and the dinner for Whitney VonVaarn. I don't think I have the time to chair the event, but I would be happy to volunteer to help.

Some interesting poll results in Eutopia City, I have to say. [...] with Mr. Force-Majeur of the "Citizens for Eutopia City Party" putting in a very good showing...so well, in fact, that he started setting himself up in the Mayoral Offices until the present mayor reminded him that there'd have to be a runoff--needless to say, he was a bit annoyed that they were moving his desk out while he was sitting behind it!
And may I ask M. le President what prompted him to start that entertaining little rumour? I assume he is aware that those comments could be construed as libel and may well have an injurious effect on the ongoing mayoral elections in Eutopia City. I also assume that those were not Mr. Talbott's intentions, so I eagerly await an explanation which I'm sure will be both eminently reasonable and forthcoming in short order.

Also, I'd like to point out that the *full* name of our organization is "Citizens for Eutopia City."

M. Force-Majeur,

I offer my sincerest apologies if those comments--which, I may add, were made in casual conversation amongst friends while dining at a local restaurant--in any way offended you. If you recall, just a few hours before, the CRO released a statement which indicated that you had won the election--a statement which was retracted shortly thereafter, causing great confusion and seeming to be a faux pas on their part. As naturally occurs in political discussion at times of confusion, certain scuttlebutt developed, including the statement to which you refer--which was intended simply as a reflection of the confusion caused by the CRO's conflicting statements, and not as any reflection on your personal character.

[OOC: That was a faux pas on my part, actually. The results were changed after some additional discussion among GMs; the reason I deleted the originial report rather than simply following it up with a correction was that I didn't want the original report to be attributed to the CRO-office (so as to avoid confusion about the election outcome). I should have pointed that out at the time, sorry.

Since the original report has now been used in-game, however, the best way to deal with it IC would probably be to claim that a staff-member at the CRO-office mistakenly posted the results on the CRO-website before they were finalized. Which would allow you to stick to your explanation, and the CRO to save face. :)]

M. Talbott,

I'm glad to finally receive an explanation. Unfortunately, I must say I was hoping for something more compelling. Firstly, restaurants are hardly the most private of spaces (as demonstrated by the fact that your comment *was* overheard), so to claim that your comment was intended for private consumption only doesn't strike me as a particularly good explanation, unless you wish to plead simple thoughtlessness on your part.

Secondly, the "scuttlebutt" explanation is questionable at best; am I to understand that you routinely ridicule other figurs of public life in your "casual" conversations when you believe the public isn't listening, and that you think nothing of it?

Thirdly, if your aim was to poke fun at the CRO-office, that could have easily been done in less problematic ways, i.e. in ways that did *not* raise questions about the "personal character" of one of the candidates in a mayoral election that is still on-going.

Bon abri,
C.L. Force-Majeur
