Not a recent change, it has always been this way, I believe the post count was meant to be an indication of how much you participated in the game related forums.
Do you plan on changing that in the new forum? Otherwise then perhaps change it for just 1 day, since it would be fun to see what your actual post count was.
You can search all your posts and (search single content, your username, show results as post) and 25 post show up per page. It will include posts that you did on forums that don't count.
Sadly that doesn't work: Doing that I am told I have 358 posts; i.e. smaller than my count. Furthermore like many other people I cannot search the OT for some unknown reason, so the posts there would never show up.

I think the search only goes back 1 year. Sorry thought that was a different issue for searching.
It was an experiment to see if anyone actually reads signature, as I had it there since Aug 17th, and it linked to a picture of a certain person wearing an infamous TShirt, and you were the first to comment.
Maybe people were afraid to quote your signature since it's written in golden-color which implies that it's written in official capacity.
