Most often than not, if you are king and you son is not landed at the time of your death, the vassals of the new king will be rebel or want another (older?) member of the dynasty crowned.
It happened almost always in my 2 gameplays.
Do not know if it is purposed or not, will try.

OTOH heirs and family member dies a lot in wars and sieges, there is no way to seclude them like in CK2?
Or maybe ask them not to lead armies?

If I have a few powerful vassals that are not over 50 opinion with me, I typically will arrest them so when my heir takes the crown he can deal with a smaller rebellion.
