Torpedoes...

Do torpedoes in battleship usefull.. do it only give more firepower or do it do something else.. like change firing range or type or something?
i mean do i put torpedoes to all ship types? becouse its give nice bonuses

As a rule, torpedoes on all ships where available. It's a bit gamey because the naval firing distance system allows ships to fire said torpedo at their artillery gun firing distance.

Yes, the current system is very broken.
