My (least) favorite is getting the "construct a grand navy" mission when you don't have a high enough naval force limit. How in gods name am I supposed to construct 30 big ships when I can only support 25?

This has already been done for most provinces with this issue back in the HttT betas. Corfu was finally fixed in the DW betas. The only remaining provinces with this problem that I'm aware of are Saintogne (for GUY) and Roussillon (for TOU).The fix is to change the cores to have a date (1399.1.1 would work). This way even if they stop being your vassal, you'll still have the cores for 50 years.
Bug which should be fixed in whatever the next beta patch or expansion is.Royal marriage with random horde country (can't have royal marriages)
Bug which has been fixed in 5.1.I once got a mission to colonize a wasteland. Although it failed almost immediately so I got a new one.
See missions\conquest.txtDoes anyone know how the game generates some of the variable based missions? I mean the ones that say attack country X and get a core on province Y. I know these can't all be fixed or hard coded as I got one last night during mid-game where it was based on a coutnry that didn't exists at the start (it was formed during the game). I'm wondering what criteria it might take into consideration. Size of your country vs. other one? Proximity to each other? Etc.
See missions\conquest.txt
Basically they target a random neighbor province. There are lots of exclusions like good relations or the other country has more infantry than you do. Also more likely to come up if the target province has your religion and/or culture or you have a good MIL ruler.
I'm fed up of 'discover X seazone or province' when I'm really not after colonists or even colonies. I'm playing a game as Holland and I want to form Netherlands and become a presence in Europe. I want a mission that says 'conquer these dutch provinces and get free cores' or something, not 'discover X canadian province for a free colonist', which just results in lost ships.
Maybe if there were a system where you could choose a mission group to get... like, opt to get mainly trade, diplomatic, expansion, colonial or religious missions, or something.
So why did you spend an NI slot on QftNW, then? In DW, at least, you don't get that mission unless you've told the game "hey, I want to explore the world" by taking Quest for the New World.I'm fed up of 'discover X seazone or province' when I'm really not after colonists or even colonies.
Once you've got core and ownership on Utrecht and Friesland by whatever means, you can get core on all the Dutch provinces in one fell swoop.I'm playing a game as Holland and I want to form Netherlands and become a presence in Europe. I'd be nice if the missions were more fun at later times in the game and offered greater rewards than an advisor or prestige. Like maybe a diplomacy bonus, or infamy reduction would be nice.
Or even if they're more generalised like, conquer 3 provinces from anyone. sell a province to small country X.
What sucks is that as Russia, you get the mission to build a bigger navy than England. We all know Russian ports give really crappy naval forcelimits even with shipyards and stuff.

But if you're playing Portugal, the historic factor likes to send you colonise Africa somewhere...The colonize province x is ok, especially if it leans towards provinces adjacent to existing colonies as it might cut down some of the gamey tactics. I personally liked the mission system in EU II despite the lack of rewards beyond the a-hah, I did it factor.
