Excellent, would be great with at least one other Dane. Only other users can approve translated messages.
Got any Estonians lying around? I will open up for it if anyone is interested! Just register account and say you want to translate into Estonian.
Just fyi; if the register form fails for any reason, you just get it shown again, but as per Issue #12 I intend to make it more userfriendly in 1.1.
Specifically what? The purpose of the tool is to speed up the translation progress as well as expand the amount of languages the games can be in. Is that not useful?
I notice you have worked on a Spanish version yourself, surely you must understand the horrors of translating the current format.
Also, I believe you should try it before judging it too harshly. And bare in mind that it is unfinished.

Excellent. If you wish to start, you can register an account and I will put you on Spanish (although only CK2 for now).
Sounds really good, I once translated CK1 to Danish - only problems occurred when there was new stuff added to the game, like updates and new mods... Don't know how you manage that dilemma...?

I have already spoken to the developers themselves, and they like the idea of being able to upload new messages for patches and message people whenever a new batch of messages appear for an upcoming (or existing) patch.

Yes. That is the intention, anyway. Right now, the system cannot export to a .csv-file, but that is coming in version 1.1; so expect this soon.
So what does the tool right now is to help translate the game ... and saved everything. And when you can pass. Csv, I download and use the translation, right?

Right now, the tool stores messages in a database (think of it as a different storage method than the CSV file); which is far more flexible for this purpose, but not as fast as a CSV file (or other 'static' methods). But the flexibility is needed to help the translation process.
So right now, you can just translate messages (or fix existing messages). But the data will be saved and will be able to be exported once I develop the system that export it.
I apologise, that is a bit abstract (another member mentioned I should be more specific about what it is). Your profile link looks like this: forum.paradoxplaza.com/forum/member.php?178821-ChristianMolina, the number I am interested in is 178821. The number is usually only present in that URL.
However, the Forum ID is not required to register.

Those are just empty strings. You can just browse to the next page. If the textbox is empty and the English comparison is empty, then just leave it empty. I am considering a way to hide them.
But then I have to translate? For example, "History Texts" is Textos de la historia in Spanish.
You can translate any other message that isn't empty. You can translate the ones that are if you want to, because I doubt they are in use (why they are empty).
Note to all translators; do not translate the '#CODE' string. It has special system specific attributes and shall remain in English. I will remove it from view once I get the chance. Fixed.
With the help of Fjoelsvider, I have developed a 'search and replace' feature. Moreover, it is now possible to search in the language you are translating towards.
The new extended search form.
To do a search and replace, you enter the local word in the search bar (in this example, „Pietät” (written here as 'Piet%' for reasons I will explain later)), then the word you wish to replace it with (in this example, „Frömmigkeit”; Fjoelsvider informs me that „Pietät” makes little sense in German, where „Frömmigkeit” is far more appropriate (and already used in some messages)) and then select the local language to search in (in this example, 'de' rather than 'en' (they will eventually read German and English, respectively)).
Then hit search, a list of messages (like a usual search) will appear, but unlike usually, each message will be labelled as a 'fuzzy translation' with the replacement already occurred, just waiting for the accounts' 'approval', i.e. clicking 'translate' for each message.
The reason for the '%' is because right now the messages are not actually stored in Unicode (from the original messages; new messages are stored in Unicode), which means if you enter 'Pietät', the ä will not match the ä in the database (different encodings), to get around this, you can use '%' (which is a SQL wildcard, i.e. can be anything[1]) in its place.
I know this is a bit of a work around and I intend to fix it eventually, but considering how easy it is to get around, I will keep it on 'low priority'. But this feature should make it easier to replace words in existing strings, if we decide to use a new term.
[1] To those wondering whether 'Piet%t' wouldn't match anything that starts with 'Piet' and ends with 't' (including spaces), the answer is yes. The replacement formula is a bit different though, because it only matches within words. So even if the database may match a string, it is not necessary that it will get fuzzy translated. This is the main reason why fixing this issue is of interest, though.

I am looking forward to using this tool in the future, when it is more complete and I have a bit more time to translate to my mother tongue.
