Took the plunge and got Cities : Skylines....now I am ADDICTED

Always liked Sim Cities, but resisted gettting Cities : Skylines because I didn't really need another game acting as time sink for the limited free time I have.

But saw the 75% sale this morning, and had some spare cash on paypal.

Eight hours later, I can definitely say I am addicted to this game.

I feel bad for those HOI4 guys; it's always sad when a modder falls down a new rabbit hole.

I seem to spend all of my time trying to make the 'perfect map' (for me). I haven't even had a chance to play.

Long time, no see, my friend.

I too have become addicted in the last couple of days. I just bought a respectable computer to replace my sad 2004 machine - why not get some PI product to play with considering their big holiday sales? Hmph, I expected to be playing Stellaris (Vicky in space?), rather than Skylines - I bought them both this week, but must build my city, must figure out how to bridge a road across a freeway, etc.

Page up and Page down to elevate roads/rail for bridges or lower them for tunnels.
I highly recommend you both read the many excellent guides in the Steam Workshop which will help shorten the learning curve and get you up to speed.
Also, try to not to get addicted to subscribing to assets. Always stay within your RAM capacity.

I've been addicted since day 1 way back in March 2015. I have tried rehab, I've gone cold turkey. I've been charged with seriously neglecting the other games in my account. I lurk in the workshop waiting for my next fix- a seductive new map or asset... I've created an alternate universe where Donald Trump is no more than a character in a bad dream... thx! I did manage to bridge across a freeway tonight after numerous trys...

Tip: Rather than repeatedly attempt to drag a bridging road over something, build a bridge in 3 stages instead.
Use page up to the required height to pass over a structure. Then drag the overpassing section only over the structure.
Then connect each end to the ground. This will save you a lot of time and frustration
