Too much IC causes problems?

Sorry for already posting this in the HoI2 forum, I didnt realize there is a forum for the DD expansion. I have been away too long I dont think I can remove the old post.

Now I dont get this. When I play a normal game and Im building factories, the more IC I get a better production.
When I open up my savegame and edit the size of the IC in one or more provinces so it becomes higher (lets say IC > 50 in some provinces) then the usage of all resources is extremely big. I mean even though I dont produce anything (I just want my factories to produce resources) I almost dont produce any resources at all, sometimes its very negative because of the usage of every resource being extremely big. This makes no sense to me

I hope the game doesnt punishing me for me trying to cheat

Every factory needs 2 energy, 1 metal and 0.5 rare materials per day to be usable, they don't produce any resources themselves.

If you're cheating anyways, just F12 and give yourself more resources. That way you can support as much industry as you like.

As others said, factories USE resources to produce units/reinforcements/upgrades/supplies.
