Too easy to excommunicate?

I haven't tried to excommunicate someone yet, but just looking around you can see that this mechanic is overused. Not sured if this is changed from vanilla, but if not maybe this should go in the main forum

So I was excommunicated, which is annoying. (1337 start King of England) I then noticed my wife the Queen of Scotland had been excommunicated.

Looked around and others excommunicated included:

-HRE Emperor
-King of Castille
-Queen of Aragon

Now I know it isn't a very extensive list, but five of the most powerful monarchs in Europe being excommunicated (for no reason) does seem a bit silly. Kings were excommunicated, but only for major offences against the Church...

Depends which version you're using. This was fixed in one of the more recent versions--it's actually harder to excommunicate than in vanilla, at the moment.
