Well it's not really Op-Ed , more of an article but I thought it would catch your eye.An extract from an article written by Leo Tolstoy reprinted in the New York World in 1909.Tolstoy compares Europe and America.Heres the link :

Quite interesting article by Leo Tolstoj.

His judgement of both the autcratical system in Russia and the libetarian American system is quite interesting.
