Told I can press dejure claim but can't.

I have recently become a prince by taking a principality on Summerset Island. I have a notification that I can press dejure claims for a barony(?), Dusk, but when I click on the baron who owns its diplomacy thingy I cannot declare war as I dont have a valid casis wassname.

Is it me being a noob?

What am I missing

In order to declare war on him, he has to be independent. If he's a vassal, you're gonna have to attack his liege.

So yes, I guess it is you just being a newbie but you'll learn.
