I downloaded the Tokyo map, and I'm not having any success opening it (it starts loading and then I get a CTD). Does the Tokyo map have any requirements above and beyond the basic game?

It needs the latest patch, found here: http://forum.paradoxplaza.com/forum/showthread.php?537769-The-1.0.19-patch-is-available-here-%28Also-MAC%29. If you have steam, it should auto-update your game when you connect it to the internet.
Did you download only the Tokyo map? Where did you find it? Tokyo is an expansion, so you need the expansion that includes all buildings, new music, people etc. It's not just a map.
Sorry for being non-specific...yes, I got the Tokyo expansion. Let me see if the patch (should that go in pre- or post-Tokyo, or does that matter?) does the trick; hopefully it will. And I got it through GamersGate...I do not like Steam at all because of how it's set up (with their client being needed to play the game).
Most likely you'll need to patch BEFORE installing Tokyo, though I certainly don't know for sure
Gamersgate probably have a site for the patches, where you can download them. Or just get into the Tech Support forum here and download the last patch.
The last patch contains all the previous fixes/improvements.
I am having the same problem. Got original program (download) from Amazon. Cost $9.99 and that is now lost!
What do you mean lost?
You should be able to download again as long you have same name and password to log back on Amazon.
Just make sure you have Original CiM and full patch before you put Tokyo in.
Use Gamersgate you cant lose anything there.
