The spells have undergone a bit of modification. The full document has been updated on my ftp site - link updated in first post. Note there is a new temple progression table:
Code:
   14 4 4 3 3 2
   15 4 4 3 3 2 1
   16 4 4 4 3 2 1
   17 4 4 4 4 2 1
   18 4 4 4 4 3 1
   19 4 4 4 4 3 2
   20 4 4 4 4 3 2 1
Apollo's hand of healing we'll keep for a level 6 or 7 spell I think ;).

What? Now I need to build 7 or 12 temples more next session?! :)

I like the way more temples to the specific god are needed for the more powerful prayers, or compensated with VP. Now both of these aspects have actual meaning.

Now if only the 'Reveal Land' spell was nerfed a bit it would be perfect. How about a VP cost? A limit of 1 per session per player?

Oh yes and a question about my Shining Golden Armour, does it stack with Forge of Fire / Forge of Shock?

No. It just happens to be a very good spell. Keep exploring - it is perfectly safe. No danger lurks in the shadows, waiting to be discovered by the intrepid discoverer.

Yes. The Unique SGA (Shining Golden Armour [of Theseus]) does stack with Forge of Fire/Forge of Shock. It is a very neat item.

If somebody else wants one, they'll have to take it from the body of Theseus for Hephaestos is not in the business of making duplicates of his greatest works.

Note: As always, with prayers outside the main prayer system, your chance of success with the GMs is MUCH better (i.e. non-zero), if you ask for something in general and make a suggestion as to what you would like to give up as a price but are perfectly understanding of the fact that the exact powers and price are determined by fiat by the GMs and will, if the prayer is granted, be deducted without necessarily asking the one making the prayer whether he is still interested knowing the actual powers and price, than if you try our patience by haggling over the exact price for some exact results that you want: You are praying for a unique divine favour, not buying a stuffed donkey in the bazaar. As always, having a lot of VPs saved up is a good idea if you go asking divine favours. This is not directed at anybody in particular :)D), but it should be noted that Theseus has been succesful where others have not. :D

E.g. "I pray for a +3 'City-leveller' sword of 'ultimate carnage vs. people who want my gold' [reduces manpower of any province the hero takes to 0 and removes the fortress completely after the session], and I am willing to pay either 3 L1 spells OR 2 L2 spells and a maximum of 3 VP, unless my 4th level spell 'BONGO' costing 2VP does not have a valid target, in which case cast the 4th levej gold spell instead that does not cost VP because I have enough temples; In this case I would prefer to pay 1 L1 spell and 4 VPs, 5 max but that is rather a lot of VPs considering how much gold they cost." -- is not going to gain you anything at all, except the enmity of the GMs.

E.g. "Mighty Ares. I pray for strength to my men, the better to utterly eradicate <insert target here>. Should you be willing to aid my just cause of retribution, all my L2 and even my L3 prayers go to you, and I shall dedicate yet another temple in your name following conquest on the ruins of <insert target here>." -- Might work, depending on VPs and other circumstances, including narrative imperative. And if it worked, the GMs would determine a price, probably, but not necessarily, based on the suggestions made, and that price would be deducted without asking the player, and the GMs would determine exactly what sort of strength to aid you in battle would be granted.

Oh the horror then! How can I ever force myself to pray for the Forge Of Shock? :(

Hmm. Let's see.

Niceness + Uniqueness + "Must be Taken from the dead body of Theseus" = People will be tempted to kill Theseus.

Olympics coming up -> Theseus will participate -> Theseus will be easy to kill

Odd session (as in even vs odd) => Theseus is scheduled to die

People will be tempted to kill Theseus + Theseus will be easy to kill + Theseus is scheduled to die = Panic!

Oh well, easy comes easy goes eh?

However let it be known that if anyone kills Theseus and fails to make it look accidental, that someone will be in a world of pain when Theseus returns

I'm sure said person who takes said golden armour would be more then willing to pay for the armour if it makes Theseus go away. Allthough, offcourse, that does not mean Pelops will take it at all.

Allthough it would be nice to create some sort of Museum for all Hephaestos' items lost by the heroes in their struggles. Theseus should be quite capable of supplying that museum plentifully :)

(And, on an entirely OOC note: Theseus is one lucky bugger, gaining 30 VP's in one session. Now he isn't even angering the Gods by asking his uber armour  )

OOC: Well, I also lost about 8.7 ducats direct monthly income (tax & production), 48.9 yearly as census taxes, and quite a lot of trade value in Provence.

Even when forgetting the trade values (mainly because they are a it difficult to estimate and calculate), this amounts to 1222 of pure cash and 2400 in tech investment per an average 25 year session.

Quite a price for the VPs.

However, on the positive side, I'm no longer so vulnerable, since I now only have 2 conquerable colonies in Britain.

”And according to the contract……….”

Gah, boooorrrrinnng. And I can´t interrupt…

“Let me quote section 4 a), 5 b) – g), 6 c)……”

What! He is going to read all that! I am going to fall asleep!

“Section 5 c), which should be read together with section 9 f),……”

Its got to look as I am doing something....

“Let me therefore once more read section 5 c)…..”

Hey – I can look up what is going on in the ToH2-threads! A really cool game, lots of action and good rpg! And really good writing as well! And what an effort from Wyvern! Hmmmm….. Wonder if those guys know that there are some people who follow the threads with great interest?

“But if you look at section 18 g) – z), you will find that….”

Ah, there are the threads! Just keep on talking – I got interesting stuff to read….

Keep up the good work! :)

Well, life is soon going to equalize, and perhaps gaining a lead soon too. Anyway, I had time to ponder the situation. Especially as KB is taking over (for one session) New Sparta. Thus I have come to the conclusion that as the roof is too low and the rope is too thick, there is no need to absolute desperation yet. Full desperation yes, but not absolute despereration.

:D

Here's hoping you get better, Jarkko. If you want to give Kurtbrian a nice and quiet session, I suggest (and I know this will come as a revelation to you) not using harmful prayers on Autolycos. If you want to set him up for an eventful, interesting, and challenging session, which will mature and empower him as a player in a forwards looking proactive dynamic sort of way, I suggest you continue your prayer-practise as usual. :)

Well, you are also good company - that counts for a lot. As for what you would like, obviously you want a challenge!

Exactly right. As stated in the first post, we do not play Sunday 20th but resume the normal schedule from Sunday 27th onwards, so you are due to substitute the one and only Leonidas, chief braggart of New Sparta, next week.

Reading the last Perseus AAR, it once again strikes me as plain wrong to see Hermes address Perseus as son, and Perseus address Hermes as father. Zeus would not approve. Though adequately explained in the first Perseus AAR, it is hard to refrain from (for this GM) adding a "Perseus, I am your father" event featuring Zeus. :D
