Are they any advantages to buying this DLC if you do not play as the UK or a Commonwealth nation?

So what are the advantages.

There is an autonomy system that allows for different degrees of freedom that puppet nations have, as well as mechanics for subject nations to have their autonomy increased or decreased.

Tech sharing system is added. Commonwealth nations get this by default, but other nations can also get it by choosing the "Tech sharing" continuous national focus.

The Battle Log has some features for free, but some features are exclusive to the DLC (the second and third screens on the battle log, from memory).

Ability to request lend lease by specific type from other countries.

Voice-overs for units from some countries.

Spearhead battle plan added. This is an order which tells units to advance along a straight line without spreading out, disregarding their flanks. They will bum-rush whatever their target province is, without waiting for other units to catch up.

If you are not greatly interesting in playing the CW minors, my advice is to get this one when it is on sale as it likely will be when the DLC for 1.4 comes out.

Ok here is what you assess:

1: Do you currently play HOI? yes or no
2: Do you consider WW2 era to be your goto interest for strategy? yes or no
3: Can you afford the $7 difference between a sale and the current price? yes or no
4: Do you wish to wait months to play features you could enjoy today? yes or no

Yes, it is over priced for what you get. Yes, it is worth it, if you enjoy the game today.
The DLC only adds to the experience, this coming from a guy who only plays Germany.

Also if you have 100+ hours in the game, you should just buy it.
If you have under 50 hours, consider waiting.

Hope this helps.

No, don't buy it, because Paradox needs to finally learn that releaseing half-polished games with $500 worth of DLC is NOT the way to go, and learn the hard way. I'm playing Witcher 3 now, where the Blood and Wine expansion, priced at $19.99, gives you 28(!) hours of content - and that's average playlength if you don't complete everything.

...Meanwhile at Paradox HQ, we get a few new talent trees and a precise attack command that should have been in the game from the start.

If you're playing non-commonwealth, this is the big one in my mind.

At the risk of making a huge understatement, there was a vigorous debate as to whether this feature should be locked behind a paywall. Most would say the ability to 'blitz' is fairly crucial in a WWII era game, and the only work around, (to avoid the AI induced watering down effect), is if one is willing to micro the spearheads.

If that's not something you want to do, then IMO, you do need this DLC.

Well to be honest, I thought the Spearhead would be big, but (at least to me) its useless. Either I'm strong enough, in which case i make one big line and wait, or I'm afraid of losing, in which case I micro manage some troops to encircle a.s.o.
I was really looking forward to this tool, but now that I have it, I barely (never...) use it.

Quick Question: I bought the expansion when it came out, but havent really played since then. Now I played some and found out: I hate this new Autonomy crap. This entire new autonomy system is simply not fun, It's a chore. It's like the estate system in EU4 a bit more work/consideration and nothing to gain. Is there a way (without staying on patch 1.2, because I still hope that one day the AI will be better) to "role back" this new system and not deal with the whole autonomy thing?

This.

1. Autonomy System: Doesn't change much within the context of the war.

2. "Blitzkrieg" Battleplanner: It already exists in the game. Select all the units, point where you want them to "Blitzkrieg" to and right click.

3. Tech Sharing: 10%+ within the Commonwealth. Great. Using the "Tech Jumping" exploit you can increase your tech output from 30% to 50% depending on how effectively you do it, BY YOURSELF.
