I think Daniel is looking Good Now, has some 250+ Divisions, though less than 10% are MOT/ARM/MECH, mostly level II foot infantry, but good solid ones, experienced ones too.
Even if a D-Day happens, it is certainly not going to be a cakewalk like the RL one instead it is going to be a second "Battle of Italy" type meat-grinder and shorter supply lines vs better air-forces for Johan should make it an interesting battle.

- Manpower is mostly gained through enacting harsher conscription laws. So you get it in big chunks and its a resource that runs out. - I think Italy is the best since it puts you in a position to test easy combat first, do buildup but not have to do the heavy pulling that germany does. - Hard to say, some players played HOI3 for month long campaigns, while I'v (with lots of AI autoamtion) beaten most of the world in an afternoon on speed 5 in HOI3. I guess the times we have played seriosuly its something like 2 whole days maybe? - IMO the game is best in single player or small multiplayer (like 2-8 players) but you can play with like 25 players and have fun as long as you have some house rules (or enjoy a very ahistorical experience). We had the issue last week, that GB could send troops and ships through the Öresund. Looks like it is not restricted.
From HOI3 we are used to that straits are blocked if you occupy one of the sides. If HOI4 models you can pass straits with enemy occupied coastal provinces some sort of coastal gunfire attrition should be implemented (and building of coastal guns). That includes supply to the fleet going though the strait.
strait blockign is bugged ATM in the build they are playing so it doesnt work as intended
I am glad that the game is not near release. The game looks to be crippled with a totally ineffective AI at both strategic and tactical levels. Why would Turkey join the allies leaving itself open to an attack from Germany when it could ask to join if and when the Germans attacked it? Where was the Russian army? Either we missed it or Germany attacked Russia without using any airforces.
The supply system needs a major overhaul (or rebalance ) The German advance into Russia (or anywhere else ) seems to cause no problems at all.
The German advance into Russia seems to have been continuous without any effect on German unit organisation.
