At Sea
During August there were a number of small sea battles in which the Imperial Navy engaged both UK and US ships.Several Allied ships were sunk during British and American attacks against Reunion Island and Aden which were successfully defended by the Japanese.

On Land
Following the defeats of Oman and Yemen,Japanese forces were able to fully concentrate their efforts against Saudi Arabia.Although progress was slow,Tojo was sure that control of the Arabian peninsula was just a few weeks away.

Japanese marines land at Jiddah
In a bid to further quicken the Saudi surrender,two Japanese marine divisions landed on the Red Sea coast and seized control of the port of Jiddah.

On the 28th August Japanese troops entered the Saudi capital.

More Japanese troops leave Africa
At the end of August several more marine divisions left Africa for the Middle East.Yamamoto's fleet was given orders to first intercept a British force that was attacking the Seychelles.
Saudi Arabia Surrenders!
On the 31st August Saudi Arabia surrendered to the Japanese.
The Race North
Following the Saudi surrender,Japanese forces were now starting to race northwards to face enemy troops,including Belgian's and the French,that were moving into the northernmost areas of Japan's new territory.
