Hungary Lends Expeditionary Force
After its liberation, the new Hungarian government repayed Hitler by lending a mixed cavalry/infantry force.The Hungarian troops were immediately deployed north towards the Baltic.
German Paratroopers Land Near Risti And Tallinn
Several German paratroop divisions successfully landed near to the Baltic ports of Risti and Tallinn.Their objective, to capture and hold the ports.
Inching forwards
German forces continue to advance along the Eastern Front but progress has been extremely slow due to the sporadic flow of supplies.At present,the German armies,especially the panzerarmees are unable to build up any momentum.When able to attack the Russian lines, success is usually quick.Russian forces are very weak, but at present Germany is unable to make the most of its far greater superiority.
Paratroopers Capture Rista and Tallinn
With the capture of Rista and Tallinn, Hitler hopes to deploy the recently acquired Hungarian expeditionary force to the area.The forces are currently close to the port of Koningsberg.
Thinning The Lines
With the majority of armoured divisions unable to advance because of the severe supply problems, Hitler ordered that the Eastern Front forces in the south be reduced.It is hoped that by having far fewer forces the supply situation will improve enough to allow the German advance to gain momentum.
