In contrast to the heavy action at the end of 1945, early 1946 was relatively calm. This allowed for seamless integration of the first of the new Main Battle Tanks. The first units to receive them were the three SS-Panzer Divisions under Field Marshall Rommel's command.
In a well known maneuver the American landed at Anzio again. So well know was this constant back and forth, they don't get a screenshot anymore, unless they do something unique.
By the end of February another Fighter Group started operations in Romania. It was clear that even though the German planes were much superior to the Russian's there were just too many of the Russians. Now with twice the fighters, air superiority should be extended over southern Romania (and its oil fields) and Bulgaria.
The past couple of years has seen many improvements. With rapid movement operations back in action in Russia, super-heavy tanks were rendered useless which instead promoted the development of the Leopard and the new MBT. Improvements in mechanized warfare and in infantry divisions also allowed mobile warfare to be fine-tuned. The Blitzkrieg concept was fully integrated into the German Army mindset and was shown off at its finest in recent operations where fluid planning and operations allowed the encirclement of many Allied and Russian troops. These lessons were past along to the Academies. The organization for these operations was at its peak and with the lessons learned there should be even more chances for future breakthroughs.
With German land forces having superiority in equipment to anything else seen on the field, the decision was to branch back out into naval research. Lessons learned from watching Japan fall had shown the importance of carrier warfare and Germany had much catching up to do
