You can see through steam that most achievements are in the sub 10% range, so people don't really do them.I did a few achievements early on, but haven't attempted much less complete any in years. I just enjoy my core game play mods too much to be confined to vanilla ironman. And the achievements just struck me as pointless.
I'd be curious to learn from PDX's usage data what percentage of players actually attempt/complete more than just a handful of achievements. My guess as for why we haven't seen new ones in a while is because most people don't do them.
I'm at 120 now, with 3 left for the US and another 3 for Australia, so will run out soon. I find that I've still been learning tactics recently though. About 10 achievements ago doing Finnish Him!, was the first time that I started using request lend lease and got tens of thousands of free infantry equipment from the Axis. I did the same as anarchist Spain in my last run, which made a lot less sense, considering that they were giving me guns to kill their own volunteers.
Yeah, at 239 I still only have 75%. I haven't played EU:IV much lately, what patch made Three Mountains harder?
Bevrijding is mostly about holding against Japan. I ended up restarting because I got so annoyed at the garrison AI, because it was moving troops around all of the time. Since then I do all garrisons manually. One king, two crowns was painful too, because I had to invade the US in the late 1940s to finish the Allies. I generally enjoy any Balkan achievements and I found that the way that you can play as Portugal rather unique for Go ahead, Macau my day.
I found bevrijding to be easy since with me preventing japan from running wild in the pacific, the allied ai pulled off D day in '43 without me even noticing. I'm just moving troops around repelling invasions and I see Paris liberated event, look over and Europe's already half won.
