It's nice if you are running 5+ colonies to kill off the natives in the colonies you are going to remove the colonist from, however even when killing i only do it to colonies with under 1k populations.

It makes no sense whatsoever to kill natives. Since if they make uprising they don't die, it is better to just leave army there. 1k per province should work for most of the provs.

I don't know if anybody has done the math but say we have 5,000 natives in a province -> 0.5 base tax -> 0.5 gold per year. We station an army there and pay them 0.1 per month -> 1.2 gold per year. At growth of 108, a colony will become self-sustaining in 10 years. We pay 12 gold to get 150 gold later which sounds good. But when we get larger army and higher army maintenance, we'll be paying much more, especially for reinforcement. So we need to either place larger army or have higher maintenance so they don't get killed by natives. I don't think it's worth it.

I think you're underestimating everywhere. First, 5k natives -> 1 base tax, not 0.5. Second, even a single infantry regiment at no tech is 0.2 ducats/month--I wouldn't try to hold off 5k natives with one regiment with no tech at no maintenance. Finally, full colonial maintenance + Land of Opportunity idea + colonist (10% base chance each month to bring in 30 settlers) is already 119 settlers per year, and you get additional colonist chance from production efficiency, size of colony, and Trading in Cotton, so colonies will grow faster than that.

I kill them. I kill them all, cause IRNOOB.

I dont want to worry about 'unprisings' when I'm trying to paint my map quickly... However, occasionally, it is better to not kill and keep an army.

Madagaskar comes to mind... thats 3 provinces, each with 9k, at 90 mil points each, that is a full tech darn near. I'll keep an army there for that.

I'm less concerened with invidiual base tax than I am with speed of growth. Gaining an extra 1 or 2 tax vs getting 6 extra colonies in the same time, both increases my income as well as denying the enemy the chance to steal them. Aggresive natives slow growth, require a defense, and simply just need to die.

Unless you can't afford to have a tiny army stationed in the province (and you should), killing the natives is a horrible idea. You're paying MIL points in order to be robbed.

Ok, so I just completely missed this was even an option. LOL! And thanks.

And while we're at missing buttons - Note the Castile only "Seize colony" option and the generic "Burn colony" options. Both are good to know.

After several tests, I concluded that you better forget about France "Native Trading Principles". It is currently crap. The pretended "native attacks severely reduced" is actually "slightly", "practically negligible".

Just kill any natives with aggressiveness greater than 3.
