Soon HoI3 is to be released in Scandinavia, and I wonder if this game fits me.

I have followed this game a lot (the same way as I've done with every Paradox game). I have been very impressed with the design, the interface and the music of what I have seen.

What I have heard though the game lack historical accuracy (I know - people will start to claim this is more historical, which bring us to the deterministic versus dynamic approach, which has been falsified by quantumphysics so we may as well stop that discussion now - please).

So what I want to know before I buy the game:

  • - Will it be possible to mod in historical events to make the game behave like you want, or will it be impossible to stop countries from joining the war until a certain date?
  • - Is the large amount of provinces making it hard to create new countries or merge countries? Does it exist any easy scenarioeditor or something like that?
  • - Is the strategical AI well implemented? Does USA behave properly in case they try to make an assault on Japan (taking island after island after finally trying to assault Japan)?
  • - Is it possible for the German AI to try to invade Africa, USA, etc by sea?

There are some minor problems with creating countries when it comes to core territory, but its possible for sure. No editor yet i think, since all the files are text-files and easy modable. Someone may make one soon if they're up for it.

No. You must make such an event.

All right, so I can make an event which cause a country to be neutral and not cause wars? How would such an event be done?

This wouldn't make the country withdraw from alliances I hope?
