It does sound noobish, and there is no need to apologize! Welcome!

If you didn't get the Revolutions expansion pack do so...it is hard for many here to remember what life was like before, and use OHGamer's hotfix (see his sig). I would hold off on VIP until you have been around the block a few times. I am exploring it now, and I appreciate it more knowing from what it is different. Enjoy.
