Hey, espcially with this competition going on was wondering how long it took the team to develop the biggest map in the game, Berlin. Now forgot about scenerio items, its more the design and testing of the map.

Im curious as its taken a couple of us 90 hours or so to complete a medium/large map, so wanting to know:)

I'm not martsu but i answer anyway :)

It took nearly 200 hours for a single person who was already very familiar with the map editor and the available assets (So no time was spent on learning).

Gebbiz was faster, but yes, making the maps can take sometimes a long time (painfully long, from a producers point of view at least)...

That's why giving the players a map editor was a hit: it has increased tenfold the replay value of the game, thanks to the emergence of so many great user-made maps.

This seems somewhat short to me considering that you probably had to develop the entire city first to find the right setup, but only go back to an earlier save to create a timeline for it.

It was a very smart idea that we have available the map editor as it does add a lot more play time into the game. I was quite surprised how fast mods especially for the editor rushed out only within a week or two of release. I'm expecting a few great maps in the near future as I wouldn't expect too many well created ones just yet; I may be surprised.

Speculating on your current project(s), I'm going to assume that you are working on new cultural expansions such as an Italian DLC of some sort which adds Italian architecture into the map editor, a new map, and possibly a few vehicles. I wouldn't expect anything that's too different from European or American styles as the game is in its infinity and would benefit more from something different but not too distant from what the game already has to offer. I believe that something in this direction would be good and quite possibly what you might currently be working on. However this is just me speculating. I know the developers can't tell us just yet about what they have in plan, but I would enjoy something of this sort if it were made.
