CHAPTER 6: Preparations: Phase 1
It is midsummer, July. The dreadful grey clouds above Warsawa have disappeared, just as the dreadful feelings of the Koscialkowskians. Smigly reported to the war room with vigor in his heart.
The Generals were waiting, as always.
Smygli: 'Well, gentlemen, I believe we shall quickly be able to overcome Germany. We shall have to use the final time we have to become able to overcome the Germans. The key to this is planning out multiple strategies to defeat the Germans.'
Random General: 'So, we're not going to declare war on anyone anymore?'
Smygli: 'I... Would not exactly put it that way...'
Smygli: 'As you can see, our manpower is begin to rise again. Soon it shall be at acceptable levels, but we need more.'
General: 'How are we going to accomplish that?'
Smygli: 'Look at these reports.'
Smygli: 'Easily done. But I fear the situation is escalating.'
General: 'You think so? I didn't think us taking half of Europe was escalation enough.'
The entire war room laughs. After Koscialkowski has half of them executed, laughing quickly stops and Smygli can continue his report.
Smygli: 'Gentlemen, Japan has declared war on the Chinese. The war is escalating and northern territories of China are annexed already.'
Smigly: 'We even expect a total collapse of the Chinese front.'
Smigly: 'Japan and Germany have found one another in an alliance.'
Smigly: 'We know that if we do not respond, Germany will most likely conquer us while the Allies fight Japan which conquers the east. We must enter the Allies to guarantee Allied ourselfs of Allied aid!'
Londen, the 18th of June, 1938. President Koscialkowski meets Neville Chamberlain.
Chamberlain: 'All right, so, in exchange for your aid, we shall allow... Koscialkowskian... Annexation or protection of... Chechoslovakia, Austria, Hungary, Rumania, Bulgaria, Albania, Greece, Spain, Turkey, the Netherlands, Germany, Switzerland, Belgium and Portugal.'
Koscialkowski: 'And Luxembourg.'
Chamberlain: 'And Luxembourg.'
Koscialkowski: 'Well, you've got yourself a deal. The protectors of Justice, Freedom and Democracy grow yet stronger!'
Chamberlain: 'Hmmm, but something's not right here...'
Koscialkowski: 'Are you talking about the fact that Koscialkowski is an Authoritan state? Or the fact that we will oppress all these countries? Or the fact that I randomly execute people without any kind of justice?'
Chamberlain: 'No, no... You didn't include Liberia.'
Koscialkowski: 'To be absolutely honest, I don't care about Liberia. Now, let's celebrate. To democracy!'
Meanwhile, the Germans are looking a little dangerous...
So, there are three different approaches to the war with Germany. The first one focuse on the defence of Austria and Italy. I only want to execute this one when my attacking strategy fails.
Oh, and China has fallen.
The second one involves an attack on Turkey through Bulgaria. The Idea is to defend Italy, as well as *fleeing* the Germans through Turkey. However, this idea was not very attractive to me.
I quickly let go of the idea. Koscialkowskia had the men to face Germany and it would do so! I would crush the thinly spread Germans!
Here is a quick outline of the battle plan:
The black line is my battle line. When I declare war on Germany, I shall quickly crush the Germans in Prussia. When this is done and the Germans have reached my line, the entire front shall push them back, to Berlin. I shall take the city, disrupt supply flow, and defeat Germany while they fight a two front war!
(By the way, sorry for the quick update. I didn't do anything for a year, so this is just a coverage of what happened. But now that a storm is gathering, things are about to escalate once more...)
