One option I can choose as USA is "long term effects". But what does that do?

For MP games at least, the most essential targets for the bombers are the refineries. You can see exactly what is happening with those on the resource map. I think this is actually a poor design choice and should be changed. The attacker already has all the advantages in the whack a mole game that is HOI4 strat bombing. He should not also get perfect intelligence on the primary target.to late
ah well.... another interesting question
also is there anyway to see how well the strategic bombers are doing in a region?
Basically how do i know when a region bombed out, so i can move to the next one.
I mean i can, in the airwar region, see the amounts of buildings bombed. But since i don't know the amount of buildings total in that region, it is kinda hard to know when to move on...
It is about play balance. In real life bombers going to Berlin didn't get to skip all the squadrons in NW Germany, but in HOI4 they do. Everything in the current system favors the attacker. There is no reason they should get free and totally accurate intel as a bonus. Considering that the game does not give perfect intel on the results of bombing factories or airfields, why should refineries be a special case? There is really no reason for it other than design oversight. They simply did not consider what the resource map was revealing.>> I think this is actually a poor design choice and should be changed.
Why? IRL, building oil refineries is pretty visible, and I see no reason that nations shouldn't have a pretty good idea of where they all are. If you want to protect things from strat bombing, build them where enemy bombers can't reach, or provide enough fighter / AA cover to stop bombers getting through
